Journal:
techtype
Character Background: His wiki entry
Character Personality: Prompto is a very animated, emotional, 'lovable dork' kind of person. He’s friendly and has a joke for just about every situation, with varying degrees of corniness, and strives to be the one person everyone can look to for a positive attitude and optimistic outlook--at least when he's not complaining about having to hike somewhere or how many bug bites he's gotten. He gets excited and distracted very easily, and if left to his own devices, will absolutely abandon a current task to check out an interesting thing he just noticed. Being still and quiet is not one of his strong suits, and it doesn't take long for him to try to fill a silence with whatever may come to mind or start fidgeting or pacing if told to wait.
Prompto is also, in reality, a very shy and insecure person. In his immediate friend circle, he's the one with the least amount of combat training, and the lowest as far as social status goes. He trips over his own feet frequently and his words just as much. Coupled with the fact that he's not a native Lucian but born in an enemy country and supposed to have grown up to fight them, he's absolutely sure they could dump him as a friend at any second. He eventually confesses these worries, but despite being reassured that his actions mean more than anything else the fear remains in the back of his mind.
It's not a recent fear, though. As a kid, he was overweight and withdrawn, having no real friends and basically absent parents. Said parents, while absent, were open about Prompto being adopted, so he knew he was different from other kinds in at least one aspect. The mysterious barcode printed on his right wrist made him even more different and led him to keep to himself, afraid that someone would recognize it or start asking questions. Even as an adult, he keeps it covered, especially after discovering what exactly it's for.
It takes him until nearly high school to eventually summon up the courage to approach prince Noctis, after receiving a letter requesting that he try to become friends with the other boy, only to--in his mind--completely screw up. Not only does he trip and fall on his face, but Noctis comments that he's heavy when trying to help him up. This spurs Prompto to better himself physically and mentally, pushing himself to lose weight and not attempting to interact with Noctis again until years later, when he greets him like they've been friends their whole lives.
Despite the 'lovable' aspect of his personality he tries to play up to sometime exaggerated lengths, he's not above expressing his negative opinions. Monsters are scary and he hates fighting them, he'd like everyone to know that he's very afraid of heights and tight spaces, and why does everyone hide their treasure in the most out-of-the-way spots? Also, candid photos are the best kind and absolutely no one is immune to them.
Character Abilities: For the most part, Prompto is basically a normal human being. The only real 'power' he possesses is the ability to summon weapons (normally guns) from the air, but this ability actually comes from his friend Noctis and needs him around to actually work.
However, he's a bit of a tech geek and is surprisingly adept with machinery of most types, especially cameras. He's far from an expert on anything, and just as likely to render something inoperable as use it. He's also able to use a wide variety of guns, despite very little official firearms training.
Items: His digital camera, his gun, and 100 gil in his pocket
Other: Nah.

Imprint
Imprint Type: Scenery
Summary: Hammerhead - An all-in-one pit stop consisting of a gas station, a repair shop, a convenience store, and a greasy spoon diner.
Full Details: Hammerhead is the place to go for all your roadtrip needs. The bulk of the station consists of a repair shop for pretty much any vehicle, as well as fuel pumps in case that vehicle runs out of gas. On the other side of the property sits a small diner, the neon sign on top proclaiming it to be 'Takka's Pit Stop'. In the middle, behind the fuel pumps, is the Mini-Mart convenience store.
At the edge of the parking lot, a little ways from Takka's, sits an RV that was either abandoned or intentionally parked there, which serves as a slightly cramped way to get some rest while on the road. Up to four people can fit somewhat (un)comfortably inside.
here's some more info on it
Imprint Type: Scenery
Summary: First Magitek Production Facility - A military compound/laboratory dedicated to the production of robotic soldiers.
Full Details: The First Magitek Production Facility, is as the name implies, a facility dedicated to production of something--in this case, magitek soldiers. These robots are machines animated not by electricity or batteries, but by magic--called 'magitek' as a combination of 'magic' and 'technology'.
This compound is devoid of those robots, however. In fact, it's devoid of pretty much anything that would indicate that it was even in service. There are empty metal hallways leading to vast equally metal rooms with what appear to be testing areas and apparatuses. Empty lounges wait for employees to flop onto the sofas with snacks from the nearby vending machines and deactivated computers sit unmanned.
Near the center of the compound can be found rooms with large empty tubes--large enough to fit a human inside if they cared to climb in. In the center stands a dome-shaped room with a large machine in the center, surrounded by more of the empty tubes, wires leading from it to the wall all over the room.
Outside, it's always snowy, whether that means snow on the ground or snow blowing through the air.

Imprint Type: Species
Summary: Cactuar - A living cactus, or rather a creature that pretends to be a cactus.
Full Details: Cactuar basically appear to be animated cacti. They come in various sizes, from the size of a child to several stories tall, but all look about the same--green, spiky, with solid black eyes and mouths in a constant surprised expression. They're known for their unusual and stiff pose that features one arm bent up and the other down and legs bent in a similar position.
They're surprisingly fast and agile, and when threatened usually run away. Some, however, will fight, most often spraying their targets with needles they generate from...somewhere.
